And so the rain falls...

Those who are keen on keeping up with the news will most likely have seen the tragic scenes cause by the rains in Rio, as in other parts of Brazil.

Considering the overflows in Portugal and Australia, and the snowstorms in the US and Europe, and the amount of causalities in those places, I believe two conclusions can be drawn:

First, the mankind must recognize that it has been treating the World badly, and therefore cannot expect to be rewarded by nature. Why wont the US sign Kyoto, for example?

Second, in Brazil every year we have floods, and every year people lose their houses and sometimes their lives. But never before has so many died and never before had the wealthy part of town been affected. The truth of the matter is, we have very bad urban management and city growth supervision. Plus a certain neglect towards the less privileged areas. And very little prevention policies.

Alas, a great many things to change in this world, in peoples everyday life, in the way we think about the planet. Because it is by thought, that things become action.
